After studying Engineering and conducting research at the Von Karman Institute in Brussels, Francesco Marilungo trained at the Paolo Grassi School of Drama in Milan, attending its Theatre Dance Atelier.

Since 2010, he has worked with internationally renowned choreographers and artists including Julie Anne Stanzak, Masaki Iwana, Yasmine Hugonnet, Jan Fabre, and Romeo Castellucci. Over the years, he has also performed for Enzo Cosimi, Antonio Marras, and Alessandro Sciarroni.

He subsequently embarked on his own artistic path, developing a distinctive choreographic language that explores the intersection of performance, dance, and visual arts.

His work Paradise, winner of the NEXT 2015/2016 grant from the Lombardy Region, was selected by Anticorpi XL for the Vetrina della Giovane Danza d’Autore 2016 (Young Authors’ Dance Showcase).

His 2018 creation Love Souvenir won both the Inteatro Festival Award and the NEXT 2017/2018 grant from the Lombardy Region.

With Party Girl, he received both the Prospettiva Danza Award 2020 and the Cross Award 2020, and the work was selected for NID Platform 2021.

Stuporosa premiered at Short Theatre Rome in September 2023 and subsequently embarked on an international tour.

In 2024, Stuporosa was presented in the official programme of NID Platform and received the UBU Award 2024 for Best Dance Performance.

His latest project, Cani Lunari, is the winner of the CollaborAction Award – Anticorpi XL Network.
