This work originates from all the sensations I experienced alone in a suburban movie theater, drawn in by the curiosity sparked by the film posters. It is a tribute to the cinema of Dario Argento, a filmmaker I discovered in my adolescence and whose work accompanied me throughout my formative years, nurturing my fascination with his unique world. From there began a journey inward, into the darker and more hidden parts of myself, in order to reveal the emotions I had long protected and kept concealed.

My aim is to transform the atmospheres created in his films into a dance language that recognizes the body as an irreplaceable element, while placing the mind—the true protagonist of the many facets of humanity portrayed in his cinema—at its center.

A body that stimulates, touches, and arouses pleasure, but can also suffocate, restrain, and kill in a sadistic, human, and primal dualism, capable of expressing a world of madness and solitude.

The performers’ bodies will move through all the artistic forms that define Dario Argento’s aesthetic: they will be gentle and feral, victim and executioner, enveloped in physical pleasure and proud in their nakedness. I seek to explore the many distortions of the human mind depicted in his films and translate them into contemporary reality. I also wish to transform the visionary environments of his cinema into rarefied atmospheres, where the body becomes the object of its own nightmares, ultimately turning into the architect of itself.

MDMA is my tribute to the filmmaker—a work that invites the audience into a world of nightmares and visions.
