‘Kokoro’ is a single Japanese word that can be translated as our “inner being”, but which literally encompasses two words/concepts: “mind” and “heart”.

This solo is a personal exploration of the uniqueness of being: an inner journey that becomes a physical journey through space. During this process, the naked body, through its exposure and its specific architecture, is transformed and becomes a poetic vehicle, giving rise to images that belong — and do not belong — to an “unreal world”.

These images, rooted in the collective consciousness, are sublimated into the narration of a personal experience, which is then transformed, through the stage, into a collective experience.

Kokoro is the result of a personal research process that is constantly evolving. It is a work developed on herself, both as a dancer and as a person. The choice of nudity, which emerged after a year-long process, comes from a necessity driven by an increasingly profound investigation and a desire to embrace radically honest choices.

The flesh is the garment she wears and the dramaturgical element that most clearly expresses the artistic direction that inspires the work and that it seeks to pursue. It is not a project that aims to be “innovative”. The physical material was developed from the specificity of the body and the figure, as well as from the collection of physical memories and images, which became the subtext and foundation of the composition.
